Visit to Utah: Part 1

I am finally getting around to blogging about SUMMER! Two days after school ended, we boarded the plane and headed to Utah to see our families!

When we arrived, we headed to Ian's family to meet Dani for the first time! It was love at first sight. Ian then worked and I played. I got to meet up with Alexis, Katie, Haley and baby Gordon and it was great to catch up with some extremely fantastic friends! Afterwards we (Ian, Dani, and I) took the red toyota and started a slow journey to see my family in Roy. We got there, greeted everyone, and enjoyed spending time together.

Saturday, we took Dani on her first walk with my mom and we learned that a two month old puppy can't walk very far. My mom took us on a trail she enjoys walking and it was beautiful! Too bad our pup grew tired. Afterwards we played some games and enjoyed the day with a stop at Farr's ice cream too! We then met up at Chilis (because Seattle doesn't have that) and had dinner with Angie and Sabel. It was great to see them as well and catch up!

Sunday, we churched and had hawaiian haystacks with a good amount of the extended family. I love seeing all of them and seeing the relationships they all have with each other. It was a good relaxing day.

Monday, Mom, Ian and I headed up to Cache Valley to hike to White Pine Lake. It was such a beautiful day and I really enjoyed the hike! The lake was gorgeous, especially with the snow still on one side. The meadows we walked through were in full summer mode covered with wildflowers and beautiful shades of green. We saw a wild weasel and watched it carry a dead baby mouse around the lake. It was a marvelous adventure that concluded with a trip to La Tormenta. MMM!

Tuesday was also great. The bowling alley near my mom had 99 cent summer deals so we bowled and Ian had his best game ever, and four strikes in a row! We bowled two different games and I only lost once. My mom then treated all of us, this time Grandma and Jen included to Texas Roadhouse (also not in Seattle) and it was divine! I ate my fill of rolls for a while. We loved being able to see Jen, Mom, and Grandma and the rest of the family! It's always nice to visit and see that almost everything is still normal. :)
