Alone in Seattle

On Monday, I left Ian in Logan working and headed to Seattle. I had scheduled meetings with principals, and with apartments for the next few days, to hopefully get a job and a place to live. The plane I was on originally had failing navigation, so after sitting on it for an hour, we got off and boarded the neighboring plane. I made it to Seattle an hour and a half later, missing two meetings. I headed through my day and got to meet some inspiring principals and see how diverse the Seattle area is! I loved seeing different elementary schools. I also loved driving around various neighborhoods seeing the area and a few apartments in the area. Monday night, after I was done, I headed to the wharf and treated myself to some yummy fish and chips! I chilled with a whole bunch of seagulls and headed back to the hotel.

I thought this boat was pretty neat.

Tuesday was very similar to Monday, but I only met one principal and saw a whole bunch of apartments. I also learned how terrible big city traffic can be! It took me an hour and 50 minutes to get about 20 miles that morning! After I saw the last apartment, I got to meet up with Danielle in West Seattle, and we walked along Alki Beach! It was a beautifully sunny day and there were so many people out and about! We ate at a delicious burger place and treated ourselves to yummy ice cream! Danielle headed back home on the ferry and headed to my last night at the hotel before coming home to see Ian. It was fun to explore the city a little more, but it was not such a blast doing it all with a terribly feisty cold. We have high hopes that we'll land a pretty sweet apartment, and I am just praying that I can get a teaching job. Guess we'll see what the future has in store!
