I can't believe that spring has flown by so quickly! The winter wasn't too bad, but I've taken out the sandals and now I don't wear a jacket even when it's 60 degrees. It's been so nice and sunny the past few days as well!
About a month ago ago we went up to Mt. Vernon and checked out the Tulip Festival! The tulip festival is something I've wanted to do since we decided to move to Seattle a year ago. It was not a let down! The fields were full of rows and rows of vibrant and colorful tulips! We had heard you could see the fields for free, but we decided to not try so hard and pay the $10 to get into the Roosengard fields and garden. It was pretty rainy on the way up, but turned into the typical Seattle drizzle with some fierce wind. I however did not think it through that we'd be walking in fields...in the Pacific Northwest....in the springtime...so I wore my favorite brown boots. With no traction. Let's just say walking through the fields was much more comparable to ice skating than a walk through a park. It made for some comedic situations and some snickering as we watched other people slip all over the place. We checked out three fields and made the drive back home. It was so fun that the swarms of people didn't even bother us that much! I'd highly recommend the Tulip Festival to everyone!

We also celebrated our anniversary in May! It was great! Since we had truly celebrated early in Hawaii (when can we go back) we just spent time together all weekend, and it was amazingly great to relax and enjoy. We started on Saturday by signing our lease for our new apartment at the Starbucks across the street from our new place. We then headed to the U District Street Fair that was happening on the street of our old apartment. It was fun to wonder around people watching, seeing great and not so great crafts, watching parts of performances, and smelling the aromas from the food trucks and local vendors! We couldn't resist and treated ourselves to some yummy cajun flavored rockfish and shrimp. We were not let down one bit. After filling our bellies, we wandered around more, distracted our friends selling rugby gear, ooed and awed over two bernese mountain dogs, and then headed home. Lucky for us, teacher appreciation week had just ended and I had gotten two free movie tickets! We saw The Amazing Spiderman 2, which Ian just absolutely loved.

Sunday was our actual two year anniversary, so we celebrated by getting up and finding a hiking trail! It has been difficult to find a hiking spot and make it out before it got too crowded, so we took advantage of our chill day. We hiked Teneriffe Falls, which was beautiful! It had overlooks of Snoqualmie Valley and then switched into the forest and along a creek! The falls were huge, and we just loved it. The gummy worms definitely helped us complete the six miles too. We thought we were going to be battling rain all day, but it was a gorgeous day!

When we got back from our hike, Ian had planned with some of our friends to have a bouquet of the most gorgeous flowers waiting for me. I was amazed and shocked. It is the prettiest bouquet of flowers that have ever been mine!

| See? Terribly beautiful. |
