That's right, my friends. Ian and I saw Imagine Dragons last weekend in Salt Lake! It was one of the best concerts I have been to!
I would like to take this moment to brag about how I am thoughtful. I bought the tickets on the first day they were for sale, and kept them secret until Valentine's day. Such a great surprise for Ian. I love when bands sound just as good live as they do on their album. It was also way neat to see them again, after seeing them in Logan 2 1/2 years ago when no one knew them and we just enjoyed their sound.

Anyway, Friday night Ian and I booked it out of Logan in order to make it to the Complex when the doors opened so we wouldn't have to wait in line. It was a bummer that both of us had to work until 5 or 5:30 making it almost impossible to imagine us getting a good spot to stand for the concert. I thought for sure we'd be waiting outside in the snow for hours to get in. (
It was a sold out show. Did I mention tickets sold out in the first day?)
Well, we parked at the Gateway and made it to the Complex at 7:10, ten minutes after doors opened. We saw a huge wrapping line, and I was super bummed. We started heading to the end of it until we both noticed they all had hard copy tickets. Being secretive and lame, I just printed them at home when I bought them to keep it a better secret, and we had printed paper copies. Lame, buttttt we had to wait 5 seconds in line and were only about 8 rows back from the stage!
It was hilarious eavesdropping (no, we'd never do that) on people standing around us and how they had waited 3 1/2 hours or more to get in. Also, it was funny to hear first time concert goers discussing their observations.
The first band came on, which was Nico Vega and the lead singer is the wife of Imagine Dragon's lead singer. They were interesting and had two songs totally fail. The next band was dull and killed the sweet energy we had.

Imagine Dragons came on the stage and the crowd got so excited. A family in front of us then lifted up their 12 year old brother right in the middle of our line of sight. I was so annoyed. Finally, they put the boy down and we could see. (But really. A 12 year old shouldn't be attending such concerts. It definitely ended after his bedtime. Maybe I'm a little mean, but really? We got super smooshed into other people and a child could have gotten seriously injured.) Imagine Dragons were amazing! They were so involved and loving life. It was fantastic! Their light show was super neat too! We left full of intense love for Imagine Dragons in our hearts and intense soreness everywhere else.
