I am so excited and happy to be engaged to Ian. Really though, it's surreal and amazing and so exciting! Well, here's the engagement story, three days later.
It was Thursday, December 22nd. I was in Roy, and Ian was in Logan working. I headed up to Logan Thursday night to see Ian, and because we had planned to go skiing Friday morning and I didn't want to drive up super early. I got there, put my clean clothes away, and Ian came over. We started playing Egyptian Rat Screw after Ian looked at movies on Netflix and didn't like any. I won the first game, which is perfect because it's one of the few games I can beat Ian at. The next game, Ian decided to make a bet. If I won, I could open my Christmas present from him (he had brought it over and put it under the tree earlier) but if he won, I would take him to Beto's, since he's always hungry.
I won, of course, and he grabbed the present and convinced me to open it. In it, I found 4 pairs of great socks. Haha. He asked me if I remembered the story behind the socks, and I didn't know, so he started explaining it to me. He told me that a few weeks before, we were walking back from school and he asked me what I wanted for Christmas. I said nothing (especially because I knew he was working on getting a ring). He then asked what I thought he got me, and I said socks. Anyone who knows me knows I love socks. He said no, and that he thought I already knew anyway, and I didn't want to guess anymore. After he finished explaining it to me so I could remember that conversation, he told me he had something else in mind when he asked me that question, and he had something else for me. He pulled a ring box out of his pocket, opened it, and said "marry me, Jill." It was cute. It was simple. I said yes, of course. :) I am honestly so happy, and I was very surprised he asked me then. I knew it was coming, but I was surprised, which takes a lot since I'm so nosy.

The next day, I got to go skiing for the very first time with my fiance! :) It was so fun, and I am super duper sore. We practiced on Little Beaver and Ian was super patient with me. I love that man. We then got on a lift and Ian got bored of the easy stuff and took me on a Blue Square run instead of a Green circle. I practically died, but I made it to the bottom, with a great story. We ate, Ian did some black diamonds because he's pro like that, and then we went on this sweet green circle run that went from the top of the mountain to the bottom! It was beautiful and fun. On the 2nd time, I didn't even fall once.
