I love to see the temple...

You may be wondering what has been taking up the few moments of free time I have.  I heard about The Logan Temple: The First 100 Years at the end of the summer, and since then I have been trying to find it to read it.  Josie, one of my beloved co-workers learned of my quest and let me borrow it from her!

It truly is a fantastic book.  I have loved reading all the stories, trials, and faith-building experiences that the early Latter Day Saints in Cache Valley faced, especially when building the temple.  I have so much more appreciation for the Logan Temple now and I feel so blessed to be so near it.  I have also enjoyed sharing some of the stories contained in the book with others...poor Alexis has to listen to me ramble on and on about it, especially yesterday.

Did you know...
-that the same rock used to build the temple was used to build Old Main?
-that originally, the temple was painted white with a pink hue?
-that the artwork originally contained inside the temple was valued over $30,000 in 1917?
-almost the entire interior of the temple was burned in 1917?
-that the temple grounds contain various rare trees for the West?
-that they have to keep redoing the roof due to poor weather and design?
-that it was one of the first four temples built?
-that men used to have dances at the sawmill, so often that they got in trouble?

Well. I know all of that. haha.

Those are just a very small amount of the cool things I've learned. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in some fantastically awesome stories! :)
