Surprise Date :)

There's nothing like the combination of daunting homework and reading creative and funny blogs that makes me want to blog in an attempt to prove to myself that I am a little funny and engaging enough for people to even want to read on my blog.

Well, as two of you know, back when I started dating Ian (coincidentally "officially" a year ago today) I started a secret blog for him. I didn't know I'd end up married to the charming man, but I blogged about our dates and adventures and wrote them down because I loved looking back at them. For Christmas, I gave him the blog address and unfortunately since then, I haven't posted as much in it because I tell him everything now and got busy with school and everything.

The reason I am sharing all of this with you is because this post is one that would fit right on in that little secret blog. But I'm making it public, mostly to brag about how happy I am and how great of a husband I ended up with. (also, so people can steal the secret blog idea because really..it's a good idea).

Here's the setting. It's Thursday night (yes, yesterday) and I get home from class (don't take summer classes, just don't). Ian and Ivy just got back from a bike ride, and they're talking so I talk with them. Ian's alarm goes off, and Ivy chimes in "Is that your alarm for a date with your wife?" Ian answered yes. We go inside and I put my backpack down and he informs me that he wants to go on a date and go out for dinner. Surprising, especially because we are cautious with spending money and such. Also, no one really goes out on Thursdays. We list off many places to go, and we decide on the White Owl, the only bar in Logan with the MOST DELICIOUS burgers. Really. And it's cheap. AND WE ATE ON THE ROOF. And no, we don't drink. It's really fun and nice and we had a great time. They even have a secret elevator thing that goes from the 1st floor inside of the bar to the roof to deliver food. They grilled Ian's burger on the roof right next to us. SO neat. I got a yummy philly cheese steak. It was a super great evening and I loved it. Ian is just the greatest for thinking of it and actually going through with it.

Then, we went to Chili's for dessert. Why? Because I got a co-teaching internship at Wilson Elementary for the next school year and will be getting paid and having such a great learning experience and educational opportunity. I had asked before if we could celebrate and had chosen a molten chocolate cake as dessert for that, and he had agreed. BUT he added dinner beforehand. So cute. So yes, we scarfed that chocolate deliciousness down and returned home.

It was a great evening and I loved that time with him, and that he thought of going out to dinner. I know, it's simple to make me happy. I sure do love that man.

And to end things, here's another wedding picture. Because it was the best day ever!
