"texas is the finest portion of the globe that has ever blessed my vision"

Sam Houston. brilliant man.

The Grandma is finally gone. Love her to death, but one can not take FIVE weeks of that woman. It is summer time: time to party, chill, and mainly be lazy. Grandma's philosophy on life? Be as busy as possible, 150% of the time. No bueno.

The weather here is sucky. Seriously. I leave the coldness of Utah to come to the humid and mostly rainy Texas? WTF. This is not Seattle. Come on, Austin! I can't handle the mega thunderstorms. Neither can New Braunfels (north of San Antonio, south of here).  TWENTY FOOT FLOODING. aka: i won't be tubing the comal river anytime soon...darn. However, it looks like it will be brightening up soon and I need to invest in some sunglasses.

The Trip to San Antonio was....well. Interesting? We went to Sea World. Who is excited?? Not me. Been there, done that. The Grandma is excited. The mother is excited. The twin is excited. The brother skips out because he had "work". Scott was smart on this one. Sea World, has animals, shows, water rides, and roller coasters. The lines are long, the people are ugly, and the water is $3.25 a bottle. Fun. Anyways. We saw the dolphins and the sharks. The smelly penguins and the gators. And the assorted fish. We got hot and sweaty and dehydrated. We saw Azul, Believe, and Sealions Tonite. Then we searched for the hotel, decided we didn't want to stay, ate at TGIFridays and journeyed home. The next day we headed downtown to the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. Went there in fourth grade, and it didn't change one bit. The rattlesnake still "bites" you during the spirit of destiny show. There are still planes and stones, bones, and pottery. It's all there. The mother and grandma really enjoyed it. The kids pretended to be interested and ended up watching a lot of the informative videos on display. Neato.

Today I went with my friend Emily to different animal shelters around town.  The Humane Society one is way nice. I loved it. And it's a no-kill shelter. I wanted to take all the cute dogs home with me...and some of the ugly ones too.  I even had a few urges to take some cats home, and that's saying a lot.  The town lake animal shelter was not-so-great. The cages are outside. The dogs are sad-looking. I still wanted some of them though. Emily found one that might fit in her family. I'll find out tomorrow if they get her. She was real cute, and four years old, but still young at heart.

So yes. My life right now is mainly me, sitting at home, on the comfy rocking chair in front of the tv. I have started working online. And my online english class starts next week. But mainly, I sit around like a couch potato. Good times? Not so much. I can't stand living at home, mainly because of the freaking retarded rules. Things will be different next summer, no doubt about that.
